Peggy Ann Hidy, 82, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at her residence.
She was born July 7, 1933, in Randolph County, the daughter of Charles Edward and Dorris (Wilson) Zimmerman. On February 24, 1952 at Redkey Methodist Church, she married her husband of 63 years, Richard Dale Hidy Sr., and he survives.
Peggy is also survived by her sons, Richard D. Hidy Jr. and wife, Connie, of Montpelier, and Alan R. Hidy of Shelbyville; daughters, Sue Ann Dittrich and husband, Bill, of Indianapolis, and Mona L. Beach and husband, Howard, of Inglis, Florida; brother, John Zimmerman and wife, Juanita, of Redkey; sister, Betty McKee of Springfield, Ohio; sister-in-law, Angie Zimmerman of Portland; grandchildren, Charles R. Hidy and wife, Cindy, of Hartford City, Janel Greene and husband Blake, of Elmirage, Arizona, Jon Hidy of Muncie, Sara Hassing and husband, Andy, of Indianapolis, Jennifer Callahan and husband, Corey, of Greenfield, and Nathan Hidy of Cleveland, Ohio; and great-grandchildren, Aiden Hidy and Ethan Hidy, both of Hartford City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Max Zimmerman and Charles Zimmerman Jr.; and a sister DeLee Ferger.
Peggy graduated from Redkey High School in 1951.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she participated in the ladies groups.
Peggy enjoyed golfing and reading.
A gathering of friends will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, 34 W. Washington St. in Shelbyville.
A memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Revs. Colin Cress and Robert Campbell officiating.
Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
