Peggy Arlene Wright, 60, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015 at her residence.
She was born October 27, 1954, in Shelbyville, the daughter of the late Ransom Dagley and Barbara E. (Wells) Preidt.
Peggy is survived by her father, John Preidt, Jr. of Shelbyville and his companion, Madelyn Skillman of Jacksonville, Florida; daughters, Kim Burris and husband, Steve, of Shelbyville and Theresa Gray and husband, Donald III, of LaPorte; son, Lawrence Wright of Shelbyville; friend, former husband and father of her children, Daniel F. Wright of Shelbyville; sisters, Cheryl Akers and husband, Ray, and Dawn Rutherford and companion, Dennis Tucker, both of Shelbyville, and Judith “Kay” Campbell and husband, Tom, of Greenwood; brothers, John K. Preidt and wife, Julie, and Alan Dagley, both of Shelbyville; sister-in-law, Susie Preidt of Belmont, North Carolina; grandchildren, Dane Burris, Whitney Burris, Joshua Miller, Kaitlynn Burris, Joseph Wright, Kaleb Gray, Elijah Gray, Samuel Gray and Khristian Gray; great-grandchildren, Mason Burris and Olivia Burris; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jamie Preidt.
Peggy graduated from South Dade Senior High School in Florida in 1972.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and St. Anne’s Altar Society. Peggy was also a member of Women of the Moose and the American legion Auxiliary.
She was the office manager and a business partner at Landco for 25 years, retiring in 2007. Peggy formerly sold real estate at Sandy Sirkus.
Peggy loved spending time and baking with her grandchildren. She enjoyed the cake baking classes she took with her family.
Peggy also enjoyed gardening, traveling and flowers.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville, with the rosary recited at 3:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St. in Shelbyville.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
