Phyllis J. Doddridge

Phyllis J. Doddridge, 79, of Indianapolis, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at Rosewalk Village in Indianapolis. Born May 28, 1927, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of John and Lolita (Wicker) Conway. Survivors include three sons, Donald D. Doddridge of St. Petersburg, Fla., Gary A. Doddridge of Conroe, Texas, and Dennis L. Doddridge of Indianapolis; one daughter, Nancy E. Turhune of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richard Dale Doddridge; and one sister, Virginia Metz. Ms. Doddridge had been a Shelby County resident most of her life. She was a member of the Shelbyville First Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Steven Bohall officiating. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
