Phyllis Jean Price

Phyllis Jean Price, 82 of Shelbyville passed away Friday, June 6, 2008, at her home. Born January 28, 1926, in Kempton, She was the daughter of Joseph David and Clara M. (Hornback) Reese. She married Kenneth Carl Price on August 2, 1945, and he preceded her in death on February 10, 2005. Survivors include her daughters, Janis Kay Price (husband, Larry) Brown and Patricia Lynn Price McDaniel, both of Shelbyville; sons, Mark Price and Roger A. (wife, Gwen) Price, both of Shelbyville; brother, Gerald Wendall Reese of Brown County; grandchildren, Diedre Ann Daniel, Joshua McDaniel, Jeremy McDaniel, Heather Kamplain, Krystal Price, Sarah Shaban and Beth Strube; and great-grandchildren, Jakob McDaniel, Kristen Daniel and Grant McDaniel. She also was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Lavon Reese and Dwayne Reese. Mrs. Price lived in Shelbyville since 1954. She and her husband were hairdressers, retiring in 2006. Mrs. Price graduated from Kempton High School and Indiana School of Cosmetology. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Ann's Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella and St. Joseph Social Club. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ed Mohr officiating. Interment will be in Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
