R. Maxine Adams

July 30, 1926 — February 2, 2010

R. Maxine Adams, 83, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at Hospice Inpatient Facility in Columbus. Born July 30, 1926, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Sylbert and Wenonah (Taylor) Williams. She married Charles M. Adams on August 17, 1946, and he precede her in death in June of 1998. Survivors include her daughter, Pam (husband, Don) Wilsonof Greenwood; son, Doug (wife, Kelly) Adams of Shelbyville; twin brother, Eugene Williams of Bedford; sisters, Mary Lou (husband, Raymond) Bush of Rushville, Evelyn Isley of Shelbyville, Pauline Eads of Fort Myers, Florida and Marjorie Williams of Laramie, Wyoming; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Susan Adams; and son, Greg Adams. Mrs. Adams was born and raised in Shelby County, residedin Delphi from 1970 to 1990, then returned to Shelbyville. She was a homemaker, volunteered at Major Hospital and delivered Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Adams graduated from Morristown High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and P.E.O. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. thursday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Rev. Robert Campbell and Pastor Bob Land officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Shelby County, 425 E. Washington St., Suite B, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
