Rae Laverne Nally, 93, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Waldron Health and Rehab in Waldron.
Born January 15, 1918 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Robert W. and Lula (Beatty) Lucas. She married Kenneth Kettler in 1939, and he preceded her in death in 1944, while being held prisoner of war in Germany. On August 16, 1947, she married Don Nally and he preceded her in death on September 4, 1985.
Survivors include her daughters, Martha A. Nally of Dayton, Ohio and Kathy (husband, Scott) Griffey of Shelbyville; daughter-in-law, Alice Kettler of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Brad Kettler, Alison Kettler, Matt Griffey, Lynn Griffey-Ennis, Melissa Kriegerfox, Kelli (Krieger) Debikey; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Dr. Ronald Kettler; two brothers; and two sisters, including Vivian McKee Tyner.
She had resided in Shelbyville since 1932.
Mrs. Nally was the owner and manager of Suburban Courts Apartment since 1963; she was also a homemaker.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Society of Indiana Pioneers in Indianapolis, Friendly Homemakers Extension Club and Order of the Eastern Star Naamah Chapter #73.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Monday, April 4, 2011 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 am Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the funeral home, with Rev. Mark Dodd officiating.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
