Ralph "Louie" Hicks

Ralph “Louie” Hicks, 56, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at his residence. He was born September 28, 1959, in Indianapolis, the son of Ralph and Luzadie (Hardwick) Hicks. He married Karen Pitcock on June 15, 1985, and she survives. Other survivors include his son, Charles “Brandon” Pickett and wife, Heather, of Knob Lick, Kentucky; daughter, Jessica Ellis and husband, Chester of Greenfield; brothers, Bobby David Hicks and wife, Susie, of Indianapolis, Paul Hicks and wife, Sondra, of Greenfield, and Roger Hicks and wife, Charity, of Morgantown; sisters, Frances Adkins and husband, Ed, of Temple Hill, Kentucky, Sheila Wix and husband, Mike, of Indianapolis, Juanita Campbell and husband, Steve, of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, and Sylvia Davidson of Glasgow, Kentucky; grandchildren, Braden Pickett, Makenzie Ellis and Chester Ellis; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Hurt; and a brother, Roy Hicks. Louie formerly owned and operated L & K Concrete in Greenfield, from February 1997, until retiring in 2014. He enjoyed his work. He was a past member of the Greenfield Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks. Louie was an avid deer hunter. He enjoyed the outdoor, and liked to fish. He was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Peyton Manning. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
