Ralph Parkhurst Latshaw, 86, of Franklin and a former Shelbyville resident, died Friday, April 6, 2007, at St. Francis Heart Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born Dec. 31, 1920, in Fairland, he was the son of Ralph and Mary (Parkhurst) Latshaw. He married Mary Josephine Smelser on Sept. 15, 1946, and she survives in Franklin.
Other survivors include a sister, Betsy (husband, John) Bryan; a nephew, J. Daniel (wife, Debbie) Bryan; great-nieces, Brittany Bryan and Christina Bryan, and a great-nephew, Stephen Bryan, all of Lawrenceville, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Latshaw had been a resident of the Masonic Home in Franklin and had formerly lived in Bloomington for many years and in Shelbyville.
He had been employed by the former Indiana Bell, retiring in 1977.
Mr. Latshaw graduated in 1938 from Shelbyville High School.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Mr. Latshaw was a member of Sugar Creek Lodge No. 279 F&AM, Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine in Indianapolis and York Rite in Bloomington.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Carmony-Ewing Chapel, Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 819 S. Harrison St.
Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Manilla Cemetery in Rush County.
