Ralph W. Graham, 85, of Shelbyville, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility, in Columbus.
Born Nov. 28, 1919, in Shelby County, he was the son of the late John L. and Ina (Coleman) Graham. He married Eva L. Martin on Sept. 5, 1945, and she preceded him in death on July 29, 2002.
Survivors include two brothers, Donald Graham of Shelbyville and Wray Graham of Anderson; one sister, Mary Diskey of Shelbyville; two grandchildren, Carolyn S. (husband, David) Crawley of Shelbyville and Michael (wife, Rachael) Graham of Greenwood; and four great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by one son, William Graham; and one brother, Walter Graham.
Mr. Graham had been employed at Indianapolis Power and Light for more than 40 years, retiring on Jan. 1, 1984. He also had been a special deputy for the Shelby County Sheriff's Department for 16 years.
He graduated in 1938 from Shelbyville High School.
Mr. Graham was a member of Pleasantview Baptist church; and former member of Odd Fellow's Shelby Lodge No. 39 and Indiana Sheriff's Association.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Maynard Hatch and Ron Robinson officiating.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
