Ramona Piercy-Long, 75, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, November 21, 2008, at Heritage House Convalescent Center. Born March 28, 1933, in Alexandria, she was the daughter of Homer and Mildred (Siler) Bertram. She married Lyle H. Piercy on December 3, 1955, and he preceded her in death on May 9, 1984. Survivors include her daughter, Janet S. (husband, John) Olinger of Saint Augustine, Florida; sons, John L. (wife, Many) Piercy of Manilla, Terry L. (wife, Jackie) Piercy and David Wayne Piercy, both of Shelbyville; sisters, Marilyn (husband, Jack) Koger of Coral Springs, Florida, Anita (husband, Dave) Davies of Noblesville and Ruth(husband, Vic) Maish of Elwood; brothers, Don Bertram of Cynthiana, Ky, and Ron Bertram of Garden Prairie, Ill., granddaughters, Jennifer Strate and Britney Piercy; grandsons, Ryan Piercy and Christopher Piercy; and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Piercy-Long was employed at Freudenber-NOK in Shelbyville for 25 years. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Ronnie Caine officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Shelby County.
