Ray D. Frazee

Ray D. Frazee, 84, of Waldron, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus. He was born July 8, 1930, in Union Township, Shelby County, the son of Everett T. and Ruth (Trembly) Frazee. On May 6, 1951, he married his wife of 63 years, Ree Jean Dow, and she survives. Other survivors include his sons, Steven R. Frazee of Waldron and Mark D. Frazee and wife, Catherine, of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Kira D. Thomas of Westfield, Sirena L. Shouse of Shelbyville, Benaiah J. Frazee, David R. Frazee, Jacob M. Frazee, John C. Frazee, Amanda E. Frazee and Katherine S. Frazee, all of Indianapolis; and great-granddaughters, Hannah Shouse and Alyssa Shouse. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roy F. Frazee; and a sister, Naomi R. Stroup. Ray graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1948, and received his associate degree from Indiana Business College in 1950. He was a member of Shelbyville Community Church. Ray was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He retired in 1990 as national sales manager for Carlisle Tire Rubber, after 40 years of service. A gathering of friends will be from 10 am to 12 pm, Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. A memorial service will be at 12 pm, Saturday at the funeral home, with Merry Popplewell officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Ray's memory to Shelbyville Community Church, 720 N 325E, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
