Ray Jones, 70, of Indianapolis passed away Monday, May 11, 2009, at his home. Born October 8, 1938, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Cecil Orville and Leona Eliza (Dennis) Jones. He married Janet Garrett on March 5, 1960, and she survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Beverly (husband, Brian) Galvin of Cape Coral, Fla.; sons, Todd Ray Jones and Scott Allen (wife, Mary) Jones, both of Indianapolis; sisters, Dorothy Mae (husband, Fred) Toll of Shelbyville, his twin Reba Pruitt and Marilyn (husband, Jerry) Gardner, both of Franklin, and Carolyn (husband, Tom) Mullineux of Fishers; sister-in-law, Joyce Jones of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Elisha Hart and Bradley Jones, both of Indianapolis; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in deth by his parents; borther, Garnett Dale Jones; and sister, Norma Jean Jones. Mr. Jones was a professional truck driver for Sodrel Truck lines US Mail, where he received the Mack Million Mile Club Award; and a member of the U.S. Army National Guard. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1957. Mr. Jones was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association, 2720 River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60018.
