Raymond L. Crisp, 84, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at Heritage House Convalescent Center.
Born December 23, 1922, in Waldron, he was the son of W.C. and Opal (Pope) Crisp. He married Lillian O. McClain on December 4, 1948, and she survives.
Other survivors include his daughter, Cheryl L. Crisp of Shelbyville; son, David B. (wife, Beth) Crisp of Greenville, S.C.; and granddaughters, Ashley Crisp, Amy Crisp and Rameisha Crisp.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clarence Crisp; sister, Elsie Roberts; and granddaughter, Stacie Crisp.
Mr. Crisp had been employed with the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier for the Shelbyville Post Office, retiring in 1984.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Crisp had attended Waldron and Shelbyville high schools.
He attended Mount Pisgah Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steve Ray officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Shelby County.
