Richard A. Conger

Richard Anthony "Tony" Conger, 66, of Shelbyville, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, at his home. Born Feb. 4, 1940, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Richard H. and Virginia C. (Davis) Conger. He married Barbara Timmons on March 22, 1961, and she survives. Other survivors include his father, of Shelbyville; three sons, Jeff Anthony Conger and Brad Conger, both of Shelbyville, and Greg (wife, Susan) Conger of McCordsville; one daughter, Kristi (husband, Gary) Wilkerson of Noblesville; and 11 grandchildren, Nolan Conger, Jesica Conger, Eryn Conger, Halle Conger, Drew Conger, Jayde Conger, Andrea Conger, Jordan Williams, Dane Williams, Austin Williams and Danielle Wilkerson. He was preceded in death by his mother. Mr. Conger was a lifelong Shelbyville resident. He had been a co-owner and operator of Conger?s Bradley Hall Furniture Store since 1965. Mr. Conger graduated in 1958 from Shelbyville High School and attended Indiana University and Indiana Business College. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge and Eagles Lodge. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Broadway Chapel, 232 W. Broadway St. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Campbell officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
