Richard D. Conover

Richard D. Conover, 58, of Shelbyville passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Major Hospital. Born June 22, 1951, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Charles F. and Martha A. (Long) Conover. Survivors include his mother of Shelbyville; brother, Charles R. Conover of Indianapolis; nephew, Charlie Conover of Shelbyville; great-nephew, Cory Conover; and cousins, Steve Conover and Chris Conover. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Gregory Allen Conover. Mr. Conover was a lifelong resident of Shelbyville. He did general maintenance and was formerly a barber at Crosby Barber Shop. Mr. Conover graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1968. He enjoyed playing the guitar and collecting Indian relics. He will be missed by his cats, "Molly and Smokey." Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Cremtory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
