Richard H. Conger, 93, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, January 28, 2010, at Major Hospital.
Born July 1, 1916, in Flat Rock, he was the son of Fred Allen and Mary Florence (Higgins) Conger. He was married to Virginia D. Conger, and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include his daughter-in-law, Barbara Conger of Shelbyville; eight grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and special friend, Irene Brunner.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard Anthoy "Tony" Conger; sisters, Margaret Nading, Dorothy Scott and Mary LaGrange; and brother, John E. Conger.
Mr. Conger was the owner of Congers Bradley Hall Furniture since 1948.
He was a veteran of World War II. He served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy, his last year of service was in 1946 with the Navy.
Mr. Conger graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1933 and attended Indiana University.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Elks Lodge.
No visitation or services will be observed.
