Rick Balish

Rick Balish, 46, of Fountaintown, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born June 22, 1964, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of Frank and Joy (Rice) Balish. He married Mary Kay Everhart on June 4, 1988, and she survives. Other survivors include his mother of Greenwood; daughter, Betsy Kate Balish of Fountaintown; son, Jackson Askar Balish of Fountaintown; brothers, Frank Balish of Hudson, Florida and Russ (wife, Nikki) Balish of Greenwood; sisters, Diane (husband, Tim) Weigandt of Tampa, Florida, Denise LaSaine of Chicago, Illinois, Delores Kokinos of Madison, Wisconsin and Darla Balish of Bozeman, Montana; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Mr. Balish was the service manager at IKON for 27 years. He was involved in Triton Youth Athletic Association and coached New Palestine United Soccer. Mr. Balish graduated from North Central High School in 1982. He was a woodworker and enjoyed winter sports, including snowboarding, skiing, snowmobiling and water sports. A gathering of friends will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
