Robert A. "Bob" Talbert, 90, of Morristown, died Thursday, June 22, 2006, at Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield.
Born Oct. 31, 1915, in Morristown, he was the son of Mellis G. and Nellie (Huls) Talbert. He married Goldie L. McMichael on April 30, 1938, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 15, 1986.
Survivors include one son, Philip L. (wife, Kathy) Talbert of Greenfield; one daughter, Betty Kay (husband, Leo R.) Jonas of Fairland; five grandchildren, Grant P. Talbert, Tim (wife, Tina) Jonas, Tony (wife, Tammy) Jonas, Teana (husband, Billy) Stephens and Tiffany (husband, Jeff) Wilson; two stepgrandchildren, Jeremy (wife, Marnie) Alyea and Heather Alyea; four great-grandchildren, Kailyn Jonas, Traven Jonas, Tyler Jonas and Morgan Stephens; and one stepgreat-grandchild, Mackenzie Alyea.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Billy Bob Talbert; one brother, William Howard Talbert; and two sisters, Isabelle Winkler Smith and Thelma Talbert.
Mr. Talbert was a lifelong resident of Morristown.
He had been employed at Borden?s Ice Cream Co. for 44 years, then at Padgett?s Chevrolet in Morristown for 18 years and last as a custodian at Morristown Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Talbert was an Indiana National Guard veteran.
He graduated in 1934 from Morristown High School.
Mr. Talbert was a member of the Morristown Church of the Nazarene for more than 50 years, where he served as Sunday school superintendent for more than 25 years and on the church board for several years.
He was an avid bowler.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Broadway Chapel, 232 W. Broadway St.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Morristown Church of the Nazarene, 554 E. U.S. 52 in Morristown, with the Rev. Drs. Kenneth Jewell and H.L. Robbins and the Rev. Don Brewer.
Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
