Robert C. “Bob” Gabbard, 64, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, September 3, 2018 in Shelbyville.
He was born August 6, 1954, in Shelbyville, the son of James and Betty L. (Watson) Gabbard. On February 22, 1986, he married his wife of 32 years, Jeannie Burnside, and she survives.
In addition to Jeannie, Bob is survived by his daughter, Nicole Rush of Shelbyville; sons, Noah Gabbard and wife, Anna, of Rushville, Jeremiah Gabbard of Markleville, Ryan Gilles and wife, Kim, of Shelbyville, and Joe Gilles and wife, Jennifer, of Nashville; sister, Margaret McMichael and husband, Steve, of Greenfield; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bob graduated from Morristown High School in 1972.
He retired from Conway Trucking in 2010, with 21 years of service. After retirement, he was an instructor at the Trucking Institute in Whiteland.
Bob was a member of the American Legion.
He lived to ride his Harley.
Bob loved his family and also leaves behind his dog, Josie and Milo.
A gathering of friends will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
A Celebration of Bob’s life will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
