Robert Tuley, 83, former Shelbyville resident passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Morgantown Health Care in Morgantown.
Born June 24, 1924, in Milroy, he was the son of Henry and Jennie (Fishback) Tuley. He married Gladys Zimmerman on February 4, 972, and she preceded him in death on January 31, 1989.
Survivors include his sister, Eva June Greenfield of Shelbyville; and nephew, Mary James (wife, Susan) Tuley of Edinburgh.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Tuley, Charles Tuley, Billy James Tuley and Jack Tuley; and sisters, Katherine Riley, Grace Kehrt, Helen Keiffer and Alice Blocher.
Mr. Tuley had been the manager of an auto body shop in South Bend, retiring in 1988.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the infantry at Anzlo in Italy.
Mr. Tuley graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1942.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Graveside services will be conducted at Layton Cemetery on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Dan McCollough officiating.
