Robert G. Morningstar, 84, of Shelbyville, died Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Morristown Manor in Morristown. Born June 26, 1920, in Clark County (Springfield), Ohio, he was the son of Harry and Mary (Garlough) Morningstar. He married Helen Smith on Dec. 12, 1964, and she survives in Shelbyville. Other survivors include one son, Craig (wife, Sandra) Morningstar of Little Marion; three daughters, Faye Ann (husband, Donnie) Williams of Montecello, Ky., Tammy (husband, Bill) Huesman of Shelbyville and Ronda (husband, Michael) Bennett of Bengal; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Morningstar spent most of his adult life in Shelby County. He retired from Grayhound Bus Lines in 1983 after 26 years of service and worked as a rural carrier for the Indianapolis Star from 1980 to 1992. Mr. Morningstar was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He attended Hope?s Point Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Carmony-Ewing Broadway Funeral Home, 232 W. Broadway St. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetary with military graveside services conducted by local service organizations. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer?s Association, 9135 N. Meridian St., Suite B-4, Indianapolis, IN 46209-7109.
