Robert Lloyd McCombs, 68, of Fairland passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Manor Care South in Indianapolis.
Born August 23, 1942, in Bonne Terre, Mo., he was the son of Mayford McCombs and Gertrude (McGuire) McCombs Hall. He married Sue Rouse on July 2, 1965, and she survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Deborah (husband, Steve) Garrett of Fairland; grandchildren, Connor Garrett and Jocelyn Garrett, both of Fairland; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. McCombs graduated from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis in 1961 and was a member of the 38th Administration Company of the Indiana National Guard.
He retired from RCA/Thompson Electronics Sherman Drive plant in 1996 after 34 years of service.
Mr. McCombs was an avid bass fisherman and enjoyed hunting and bowling. He also leaves behind his beloved dogs, Clancy and Scruffy.
Private graveside services will be conducted at the Fairland Cemetery, in Fairland, with the Rev. Robert Campbell officiating.
