Robert Loren "Bob" Elmore of Fairland, 81, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2007, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born November 9, 1925, in Hendricks County, he was the son of Harroll H. and Letha E. (Graham) Elmore. He married Betty L. McClain on February 5, 1955, and she preceded in death on May 18, 1983. He married Angie N. O'Connor on October 12, 1984, and she survives.
Other survivors include his daughters, Gloria (husband, Bob) Judah, Jenice (husband, Bob) Brown and Shawn (husbnd, Robbie) Stonebraker, all of Fairland; sons, Wyatt (wife, Stephanie) Elmore of Bloomington, Kevin (wife, Ann) Elmore of Gresham, Ore., Brett (wife, Laura) Elmore of Franklin, and Troy (wife, Julie) Elmore of Francisco, Ind.; stepson, Randy (wife, Kathy) Courtney of Kingston Springs, Tenn,; stepdaughter, Rhonda (husband, Mark) Mayhew of Greenfield; grandchildren, Amy Judah, Robb Judah, Laurie (husband, Martin) Roesli, Nesha (husband, Brandon) Anderson, Amber Elmore, Autumn Elmore, Heather Stonebraker, Shane (wife, Kaytlin) Elmore, Gary (wife, Jenny) Elmore, Bridget (husband, Dustin) Morgan, Noah Elmore, Ben Elmore and Simon Elmore; stepgrandchildren, Sarah Courtney, Thomas Courtney, Caleb Courtney, Callie Jane Courtney, Courtney Bullington and Mark Mayhew; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Elmore had been a machinist for Euclid Machine. He formerly worked for Tucker Stone, where he was a stock holder; and was one of the former owners of 4R Quarry. He retired in 1990.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, serving from 1944 to 196 in the Pacific Theater.
Mr. Elmore graduated in 1943 from Fairland High School.
He was a 50-year member of Sugar Masonic Lodge No. 279 F&AM, and member of Fairland Volunteer Fire Department, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Eagles Lodge.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with eulogy read by Bob Brown.
Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery, with military rites conducted by local veterans organizations.
