Robert M. "Bapper" Macy, 86, of Arlington, died Thursday, July 20, 2006, at his home.
Born Aug. 22, 1919, in Rush County, he was the son of Shirley and Carrie (Spencer) Macy. He married Reba Linville on July 22, 1944, and she survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Margo (husband, Jim) Caudill of Shelbyville; one son, Robert J. (wife, Terri) Macy of Arlington; three granddaughters, Carly (husband, Keith) Moore, Samantha Macy and Christina Caudill; two great-grandchildren, Macy Moore and Reese Moore; one niece; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Bernadine Phillips; and one grandson, Rob Macy.
Mr. Macy was employed in chemical manufacturing at Eli Lilly for 32 years, retiring in 1983. He previously was employed at HP Wasson Department Store for 10 years.
He graduated from Arlington High School in 1938 and from Indiana Business College.
Mr. Macy was a member of Little Blue River Friends Church and former member of Arlington Lions Club.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Little Blue River Friends Church, 5939 N. 800E, Morristown.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Revs. Peggy Caldwell, Jerry Canady and John Zwirn officiating.
Interment will be in Arlington East Hill Cemetery in Arlington.
Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Chapels, 819 S. Harrison St., is handling the arrangements.
