Roger Headlee

Roger Headlee, 67, of Shelbyville, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born May 27, 1939, in Rush County, he was the son of Ralph Emerson and Alice Pauline (Goddard) Headlee. He married Wanda F. Wells on June 28, 1957, and she survives. Other survivors include two sons, Richard W. Headlee and Russell S. Headlee, both of Shelbyville; one sister, Jane Ann Bowles of Speedway; four grandchildren, Charlie Headlee, Chrissy Jessup, Seiger Pogue and Ravin Headlee; three great-grandchildren, Megan, Nate and Jalen; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William F. Headlee. Mr. Headlee had been employed with Knauf Manufacturing in the maintenance department for 33 years, retiring in 2001. After retiring, he worked part time at SuperWash. He graduated in 1957 from New Salem High School. Mr. Headlee was a member of Little Flat Rock Christian Church and GMP Local No. 32. He was an avid NASCAR fan. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S.
