Ronald Eugene Markley

Ronald Eugene Markley, 62, a lifelong Shelbyville resident, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville. He was born January 24, 1955, in Shelbyville, the son of Forrest L. and Irene (Sparks) Markley. On July 6, 2003, he married Carla Joann Cole, and she survives. In addition to Carla, Ronald is survived by his son, Tyler Markley of Shelbyville; step-daughters, Kylie Killen of Flat Rock, Kelli Heagy and husband Brad, and Keri Southwood, all of Shelbyville; sister-in-law, Rachel Markley; grandchildren, Kinsley Markley; step-grandchildren, Hailey Heagy, Macey Heagy and Brad Heagy. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Markley; and sisters, Charlotte Markley and Juanita Markley. Ronald graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1973. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Ronald was a U.S. Army veteran. He formerly worked for Cord Brothers for 16 years. Ronald enjoyed fishing, camping and working jigsaw puzzles. Private family services will be observed. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
