Ronald Gene "Ronnie" Thomas, 47, of Shelbyville died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006.
Born June 18, 1959, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Ronald and Donna M. (Eads) Thomas Jr. He married Beth A. McColley on Oct. 3, 1981, and she survives.
Other survivors include his parents of Shelbyville; two sons, Ronnie Keller of Grossenluder Mus, Germany and Nathan R. (wife, Nicole) Thomas of Shelbyville; one daughter, Sarah M. Thomas of Shelbyville; one sister, Caryl Beaty of Shelbyville; two brothers, Chris Thomas of Indianapolis and Mike (wife, Deana) Thomas of Greensburg; and three grandsons, Nathan Turner, Noah Turner and Nicholas Ryan Thomas.
Mr. Thomas was a lifelong Shelbyville resident.
He had been a mechanic for Shelby Tire from 1989 until retiring in 1991 and prior to that with Knauf Fiber Glass for four years.
Mr. Thomas was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany.
He attended Shelbyville High School, where he was a member of the class of 1977.
Mr. Thomas was a member of Blue Ridge Christian Union Church and the Waldron Masonic Lodge.
He loved cars, hunting and fishing.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m., with Masonic services at 5:30 p.m., Sunday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Broadway Chapel, 232 W. Broadway St.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Blue Ridge Christian Union Church, 466 S. 775E, with the Rev. Jerri Cadwallader and Pastor Dennis Hirschauer officiating.
Interment will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery in Blue Ridge, with military rites conducted by local service organizations.
