Ronald Gene Bruner, 82, of Shelbyville passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010 at his residence. Born October 17, 1928, in Shelby County, he was the son of Orville Joseph and Eva Jane (Berry) Bruner. He married Jacqueline Ann Riser of September 6, 1953, and she survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Rhonda (husband, Ken) Wright of Indianapolis; son, Kyle (wife, Debra) of Cuero, Texas; grandchildren, Kari (husband, Keith)Jones, Alex McBride, Kerry (husband, Chris) Reifel and Kurt Wright; and great-grandchildren, Haley, Cameron, Brianna, Kayla and Kelsey. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert Bruner and William Bruner and sister, Marilyn Seward. Mr. Bruner was a lifelong resident of Shelby County, residing in Shelbyville for 57 years. He graduated from Flat Rock High School in 1947. Mr. Bruner was formerly a heavy equipment operator with Union Local No. 103, retiring with more than 50 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Bruner was a member of the National Rifle Association and a 50-plus-year member of Union Local No. 103 and Norristown Masonic Lodge. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 pm Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Masonic services will be at 3 pm, with Military graveside services. Interment will be in Norristown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
