Ronald L. "Ron" Woodall

Ronald L. Woodall, 60, of Shelbyville died May 24, 2011 in Noblesville, Indiana, surrounded by family. Born in Kentucky to William and Jean Woodall, he later moved to California. It was there he married Tonya Blair Rossetti in 1996, and their only son Devin Philip was born later that year. They moved to Indiana to be closer to extended family members. Both wife and son survive. Other survivors include his mother, Evelyn Wallace, and his siblings, William Woodall, Mike Woodall, and Mary Gast, and his sister-in-law Margaret Forden. Also surviving are his parents-in-law Philip and Carol Rossetti, sister-in-law Alysa Rossetti, and nephews Jacob and Joseph Getz. He is preceded in death by his father, William Woodall, and his brothers Harry Woodall and Robbie Woodall. Ron served as a mechanic in the Army, stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. He held a certification in Drug and Alcohol Counseling through University of California Santa Barbara, and worked in Shelby and Decatur County as a substance abuse counselor with Adapt, Inc. and Shelby County ADA. He also worked as a painting contractor and commercial driver. His favorite pastime was spending time with his son. His second favorite was bass fishing. Father and son spent many days together fishing, talking football, and watching sports. Ron also enjoyed woodworking and fast-pitch softball. He strove to bring out the best in himself and others, and instilled those qualities in his son. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Friday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Dry Dock Club, 62 3rd Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
