Ronnie Bernard, 59, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Major Hospital.
He was born January 6, 1954, in Paducah, Kentucky. Ronnie was the son of Joseph Green and Iva Louise (Wilborn) Bernard. He married Pamela S. Quack on September 6, 1996, and she lives on with his loving memory forever and always.
Other survivors include his mother, Iva “Louise” Bernard of Shelbyville; son, Barry (wife, Larissa) Cummings of Troy, Idaho; daughter, Betsy Wilson of Shelbyville; brothers, Wendell (wife, Vicki) Bernard and Daryl (wife, Sharon) Bernard, both of Shelbyville; sister, Cheryl Clark of Flat Rock; grandchildren, Cory Popplewell, Jessica Longnecker, Dakota Wilson, Briana Wilson, Brittany Cummings, Ellen Harris and Bryce Bohlen; great-grandchildren, Emmett Popplewell and Zayden Longnecker and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a son, Robert Bohlen.
Ronnie was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp.
He had formerly been a HVAC technician, last working for Johnson Controls.
Ronnie was a member of the Pipefitters Local No. 440.
He loved his children, grandchildren, family and friends and enjoyed helping other people.
Ronnie liked to tinker, taking things apart and making them work better. He enjoyed going to the beach, fishing and playing his guitar.
He also leaves behind his dogs, Shadow “his best bud” and Shelby.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:30 am, Friday, March 29, 2013 at Snyder Cemetery, with Rob Springer officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the local military committee.
A Celebration of Life will be from 11:30 am to 1 pm, Friday, March 29, 2013 at Shelbyville Community Church, 720 North 325 East in Shelbyville.
