Rosa LaVaughn Musmann McColley

Rosa LaVaughn Musmann McColley, 97, died Friday, November 23, 2018 in Sarasota, Florida. She was born March 26, 1921 to Louis V. and Lova B. Musmann in Tail Holt (now known as Carrollton in Hancock County), Indiana. She was married to H.E. “Gene” McColley in 1936, and he preceded her in death in 1980. She lived in Shelbyville, Indiana most of her life, the last six years in Sarasota with her daughter and son-in-law. Mrs. Colley is survived by her daughter, Caryol Ribble; son-in-law, Howard Ribble; many nieces and nephews; and three step-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Gloria, Shirley, June, Alice and Helen; and brother, Bill. Mrs. McColley enjoyed doing crafts and playing cards with her caregivers. She had been a member of Omega Nu Tau Sorority and the Shelbyville Garden Club. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with Seth Taylor officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
