Rosalie Grace Bass

Rosalie Grace Bass, 87, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Heritage House Convalescent Center in Shelbyville. She was born March 4, 1926, in Shelby County, the daughter of Earl and Maude G. (Gray) Bass. Survivors include her nephews, Harry Smith of Shelbyville and Robert Smith of Bloomington; and nieces, Peggy Jane Wiley of Villages, Florida and Charlotte Ann Myer of Inverness, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marjorie I. Smith; and brother, Robert Bass. Rosalie graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1944. She was formerly a member of West Street United Methodist Church. Ms. Bass retired from Sear and Roebuck in 1981, after 47 years of service. She worked at the Shelbyville and Washington Square Mall locations. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 am on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 11 am on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
