Rose Anna (Rodgers) Smith, 94, of Morristown passed away Monday, July 23, 2012 at Hancock Regional Hospital Hospice in Greenfield.
Born August 17, 1917, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, she was the daughter of Ed P. and Myrtle M. (Holdren) Rodgers. She married Curtis J. Smith on February 1, 1935, and he preceded her in death on September 22, 1986.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia (husband, Howard) Spurlock and Joyce (husband, Stephen) Cory, both of Morristown; son, Larry J. (wife, Beverly) Smith of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Tim Mann, Bruce Mann, Tonya Alter, Chuck Smith, Terry Smith, Michael Smith, Gregg Cory, Juli Hall and Chad Cory; several great and great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Lois McDaniel; brothers, Vincent Rodgers and Ted Rodgers; and a sister, Ruth Hazelbaker.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the Morristown Church of the Nazarene and the Merry Mixers Home Extension Club.
She was a farm wife, and had formerly worked at Western Electric in the 1950’s and in the Maintenance Department at Morristown Elementary/Shelby Eastern Schools in the 1980’s.
Mrs. Smith loved crafting, ceramics and quilting.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm, Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Morristown Church of the Nazarene, 554 E. Main Street in Morristown
Funeral services will be at 10 am, Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the church.
Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery.
Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.
