Rosella Lawrence, 87, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, June 10, 2011 at Major Hospital.
Born October 27, 1923, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Harry and Mary (Lux) Winkler. She married Kenneth Lawrence on February 13, 1943, and he preceded her in death on August 11, 1985.
Survivors include her sons, Jerry L. Lawrence of Shelbyville; and David L. (wife, Jackie) Lawrence of Greenwood; brother, Kenneth (wife, Clara) Winkler of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Kirk Lawrence of McCordsville and Gia (husband, Bret) Bowers of Boise, Idaho; and great-grandchildren, Demi, Evan, Ryann and Ellie.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Freda Tragesser and Katherine Anspaugh; and brothers, Norman Winkler and Emerson Winkler.
Mrs. Lawrence graduated from Waldron High School and was a lifelong resident of Shelbyville.
She formerly had worked at Eli Lilly and Co., retiring in 1985.
Mrs. Lawrence was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the ladies auxiliary at the church and the St. Joe Social Club.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Monday, June 13, 2011 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., with the rosary recited at 3:30 pm.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 am, Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., Shelbyville, Indiana.
Interment will be in St. Vincent De Paul Cemetery.
