Rosemary Macy, 89, of Morristown, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 at Morristown Manor in Morristown.
She was born January 11, 1928, in Gwynneville, the daughter of Ralph L. and Mary “Berniece” (Lamb) Mohler. On May 18, 1946, she married her husband of 59 years, William Edwin Macy, and he preceded her in death on September 28, 2005.
Rosemary is survived by her daughters, Jane Longstreet and husband, Bob of Shelby County, and Mary Conway and husband, Jim, of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Nancy Macy; son, Mark Alan Macy and brother, Ralph Mohler Jr.
Rosemary graduated from Morristown High School in 1946. She attended University of Indianapolis and obtained her activities direction certification, Ball State and obtained her social services certification and Indian River College for secretarial studies.
She was a member of Burge Terrace Baptist Church, Brookville Road, Indianapolis.
Rosemary was the director of social services at Lynwood Health Care Center near Speedway.
She was also a member of Caleb’s Kin at Burge Terrace and the Missionary Society at Little Blue River Friends Church.
Rosemary enjoyed cooking, pioneer times and history.
She loved the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Little Blue River Friends Church in Rush County.
