Rosemary “Rosie” Piersall, 68, of Fairland, beloved wife, mother and grandmother went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from her courageous fight with acute myeloid leukemia surrounded by her family.
She was born October 6, 1946, in Raywick, Kentucky, the daughter of Joseph Henry and Mary Catherine (Russell) Leake. On October 17, 1963, she married her husband of 51 years, Michael Lee Piersall, Sr., and he survives.
Other survivors include her daughters, Tammy Peterson and husband, Phil, and Melissa Dunlap, both of Fairland; sons, Michael Piersall, Jr. and wife, Julie of Fairland and Christopher Piersall and wife, Amy, of Shelbyville; sister, Jackie Reeves and husband, Mike, of Center Hill, Florida; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Joan Crouch and Carol Jean Pattison; and brothers, Joseph Leake and Michael Leake.
Rosie graduated from Triton Central High School.
She was a member of Shelbyville Community Church.
Rosie retired from Paper Manufacturing Company in 2002, with 22 years of service.
She enjoyed making jewelry, reading, studying and crocheting.
Rosie loved the time she spent with her family.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Shelbyville Community Church, 720 N. 325E, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with Pastor Brad Davis officiating.
Services are entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
