Roy L. Sipe, 87, of Morristown, died Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at Heritage Manor.
Born Aug. 5, 1917, in Scottsburg, he was the son of Clement V. and Agnes M. (Smith) Sipe. He married Janet V. Jessup on Nov. 24,1938, and she survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Connie Cunningham of Greenfield, Sharon (husband, Harley) Huffman of Whiteland and Cinda (husband, Steve) Andis of Morristown; two sons, Steve (wife, Mary) Sipe of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Rick (wife, Pat) Sipe of Clarkston, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester Sipe and John Sipe; three sisters, Bertha Baxter, Mary Jones and Mildred Carroll; two infant siblings; and one son-in-law, Bill Cunningham.
Mr. Sipe had been employed with Delco Remy in Anderson, retiring in 1978.
He graduated from Anderson High School.
Mr. Sipe was a member of Morristown Christian Church and former member of Morristown Lions Club and Morristown Town Council.
He loved gardening, sports, playing cards and being with his family.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Frazier Chapel, Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 124 E. North St. in Morristown; and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Morristown Christian Church, 209 S. Washington St., Morristown,
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Jim Coyle officiating.
Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, in Morristown.
