Roy W. Plymate Sr., 62, of Fairland, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005.
Born April 22, 1943, in Fairland, he was the son of the late Francis W. Plymate and Catherine I. (Anderson) Roan. He married Donna R. Weintraut on Nov. 17, 1990, and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Roy Plymate Jr. of Shelbyville and Francis Plymate II of Fairland; two daughters, Laura (husband, George ?Woody?) Porter of Franklin and Michelle (husband, Mark) Losey of Indianapolis; two brothers, Russell (wife, Katherine) Roan Jr. of Shelbyville and Verley (wife, Shirley) Plymate of Fairland; one sister, Edna Marie (husband, Ray) Sweet of Greensburg; one sister-in-law, Sherri Baumgardner of Union City, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Cara Jean Plymate and Edna Marie Plymate; and one grandson.
Mr. Plymate was caretaker of Creekside Mobile Home Park. He had retired in 2003 from Shelby County Highway Department, after 33 years of service, where he had been a heavy equipment operator.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles ?Joe? Caplinger officiating.
Interment will be in Fairland Cemetery, in Fairland.
