Ruby A. Lindsey, 82, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove.
Born September 26, 1927, in Lebanon, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Charles and Jane (Price) Wright. She married Carroll Lindsey on February 27, 1946, and he preceded her in death on June 30, 1990.
Survivors include her daughters, Kathy (husband, Stanley) Schaf of Shelbyville and Peggy (husband, David) Rasche of Waldron; sister, Ada McCarty of Lebanon; grandchildren, Patrick (wife, Mary Anne) Schaf and Jaime (husband, Brian) Willis, both of Shelbyville, Misty (husband, Andy) Taggart of St. Paul and Lindsey Rasche of Waldron; great-grandchildren, Ashly Schaf and Christian Schaf, both of St. Paul, Alison Schaf, Nicholas Hill and Brianna Willis, all of Shelbyville; great-great-grandson, Alexander Wilkerson of St. Paul.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Lindsey resided in Shelbyville most of her life.
She had been a clerk at Hook's Drug Store for 17 years, retiring in 1993.
Mrs. Lindsey was a volunteer for Shelby County Hospice for 10 years.
She was a member of The Fun Bunch and attended Evangelical United Church of Christ.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Linda Frische-Mouri officiating.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
