Ruby Alice Achors, 83, of Fairland passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Regency Place in Greenwood.
Born February 11, 1927 in Lyons, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Edgar and Audrey Frances (Elgan) Canady. She married Noah Delbert Achors on July 14, 1945, and he preceded her in death on March 28, 1998.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy (husband, Brian) Fisher and son, Thomas (wife, Margaret) Achors, both of Fairland; sister, Wilma Rose Jarrett of Linton; brother, John William Canady of Mesa, Arizona; grandchildren, Robin Clayborn, Mary Milholland, Michael Achors and David Achors; great-grandchildren, Tyler James Milholland and Emma Rose Milholland.
She was also preceded in death by her son, James Herbert Achors; sisters, Georgianna Sorrells and Frances Bernice Ward; and Bobby Gene Clayborn.
Mrs. Achors enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and puzzles; and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a graduate of Switz City High School.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Jack Ivie officiating.
Interment will be in Kentucky Ridge Cemetery in Scotland at 1:30 p.m.
