Ruth Bennett

Ruth Elnora Bennett, of Evansville, formerly of Hancock County, died Monday, May 13, 2013 at her daughter’s residence. She was born June 3, 1923 to Joseph Oscar and Flora E. (Martin) Apple of Maxwell. Ruth married Joseph Marvin Bennett on December 16, 1945, and he passed away November 14, 1987. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Cobb of Holmesville, Ohio, Frances (husband, Ralph) Frame of Modoc, Lois (husband, Billy) Welden and CoLinda Mosby, both of Evansville; son, Ronnie Bennett of Anderson; daughter-in-law, Sherri Bennett of Muncie; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; special friends whom she called her “Arkansas daughter”, Margaret (husband, Ralph) Sanders of New Palestine. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sons, Marnee Wayne Bennett in 2003 and Marvin Duane Bennett in 2000; daughter-in-law, Donna Bennett in 2011; two sisters and four brothers. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 pm, Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Graveside services and interment will be at 3 pm, Thursday at Asbury Cemetery, with Rev. David Bennett officiating.
