Ruth E. Clawson, 91, of Manilla, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at Heritage House Convalescent Center.
Born Sept. 22, 1914, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Mary Adeline (Dellekamp) Snyder. She married Woodrow Clawson May 27, 1938, and he preceded her in death in 1971.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda (husband, Nelson) Houston of Homer; two sisters, Mary Walton and Catherine Schoentrup, both of Shelbyville; two brothers, Dave (wife, Catherine) Snyder of Shelbyville and Jim Snyder of Clifton, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Melynda Turner and Patricia (husband, Kevin) Rupert; and six great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Anne Wells; one grandson, Lee Wells, one sister, Fern Kappes; and three brothers, Wayne Snyder, Dick Snyder and John William Snyder.
Mrs. Clawson lived in the Manilla area most of her life.
She had been employed by the former TRW Cinch Manufacturing for 29 years, retiring in 1980.
Mrs. Clawson graduated from St. Joseph High School.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Anne?s Altar Society.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Carmony-Ewing Broadway Chapel, Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 232 W. Broadway St.
A funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St.
Burial will be in Manilla Cemetery, in Rush County.
