Ruth Elaine Warner Reed, 82, of Morristown, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005.
Born March 18, 1923, in East Holman Township, Osceola County, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late John William and Zelfa (Powell) Anderson. She married Luther Marvin Warner, and he preceded her in death. She married George Reed, and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include four daughters, Patricia (husband, Edward) (Warner) Aiello of Bloomfield, N.J., Anita (Warner) Erlewein of Morristown, Gayle (husband, Alden) Lewis of Rothbury, Mich., and Georgia (husband, Gene) (Reed) Riddle of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; five sons, Gary (wife, Debbie) Reed of DeMotte, Steve Reed and Roger (wife, Brenda) Reed, both of Bicknell, Paul (wife, Kim) Reed of Valparaiso and Ralph (Renea) Reed of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Harold (wife, Ruth) Anderson of Indianapolis; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Christina (Warner) Kemp; two brothers, Lawrence Anderson and infant brother Meryl, and two sisters, June Kelly and Lorraine Harms.
Mrs. Reed was a homemaker and retired from Fort Harrison Finance Center, after 20 years of service. She also had been employed with the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles for four years, the Morristown License Branch, Kopper Kettle and Morristown Canning Factory.
She graduated from high school in Sibley, Iowa.
Mrs. Reed was a member of Morristown United Methodist Church since 1953; United Methodist Women's Society; National Association of Retired Federal Employees Unit 0813; Morristown Legion Auxiliary Post No. 102, serving as president in 1950; African Violet Society of America; and National Cancer Society.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Frazier Chapel, Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 124 E. North St. in Morristown; and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Morristown United Methodist Church, 221 S. Washington St., Morristown.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Revs. Jane Peterson and Gary Reed officiating.
Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, in Morristown.
