Ruth E. Thurston

Ruth E. Thurston, 73, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Major Hosital. Born May 6, 1937, in Fayette County, she was the daughter of Raymond and Rosa (Smith) Manning. She married Robert Thurston on September 1, 1954, and he survives. Other survivors include her sons, Terry (wife, Shirley) Thurston of Indianapolis and Ronald (wife, Deana) Thurston of Shelbyville; daughters, Deborah (wife, John) Pile and Anita (husband, Kevin) Strosnider, both of Shelbyville and Sherri (husband, Roger) Burt of Franklin; sister, Mary Giddens of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Private services will be conducted. Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.
