Ruth M. Barlow

Ruth M. Barlow, 95, of Shelbyville died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Ashford Place Health Campus. Born April 4, 1913, in St. Paul, she was the daughter of Omer and Maude (Mellis) Howery. She married Dallas Thomas Barlow on June 23, 1933, and he preceded her in death on October 31, 1981. Survivors include her nieces, Ruthann Freeland of Whiteland and Sharon Young of The Villages, Florida. She also was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Anna Hopkins; and brothers, George Howery and Carl Howery. Mrs. Barlow had been employed at Progress Laundry, George J. Mayers and Angel Manufacture Co. in Indianapolis for many years prior to retiring in 1971. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, Irvington No. 2999. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Frazier Chapel, 124 East North Street in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
