Sandra Jean "Sandy" Whited, 72, of Morristown passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
Born May 6, 1939, in Pontiac, Michigan, she was the daughter of Charles and Irma (Copeland)Cox. She married Richard Whited on September 1, 1961, and he survives.
Other survivors include her daughters, Teresa (husband, Bill) Tompkins of Rushville and Tonya (husband, Darrell) Walton of Shelbyville; sisters, Shirley (husband, Durden) Pierce of Indianapolis and Vickie (husband, Vic) Flanigan of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren, Crystal Whited, Richard Phillips and Josh Tompkins; great-grandchildren, Madison Tapp, Makaylah Phillips and Mason Phillips.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Charray Allen.
Sandy formerly worked at IPC-Freudenberg and the Jacket's Hive, retiring in 1986.
She graduated from Cambridge City High School in 1957 and attended Harding College.
Sandy enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, sewing and making crafts.
She also leaves behind her dog, Maci Jo.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 pm, Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.
Funeral services will be at 12 noon, Monday, November 21, 2011 at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery.
