Sarita Rose Liggett

Sarita Rose Liggett, 66 of Indianapolis passed away Friday, November 6, 2009 at her residence. Born July 7, 1943, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Oren Cecil and Dorothy S. (Schnaitter) Harrell. Survivors include her sons, Brent (wife, Kiki) Liggett of Fishers and Mark (wife, Heather) Liggett of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Travis Liggett of Warsaw, Thomas Liggett and Grayson Liggett, both of Austin and Ryann Liggett of Fishers. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Liggett was a Home Economics Teacher at Manchester High School and Indianapolis Public Schools for 30 years, retiring in 2007. She was a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association, Marion County Democrats and Ball State Alumni Association; she attended Fairland United Methodist Church. Mrs. Liggett graduated from Morristown High School in 1961 and Ball State University in 1966. She was an avid Colts fan, and enjoyed an active lifestyle in Indianapolis seeing the latest museum attraction and dining spots. We were all priviledged to have her in our lives. She made a huge impact in many lives and will never be forgotten. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
