Sharon Cooper, 75, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Greenwood.
She was born November 19, 1939, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Edwin and Susan (Brown) Tevebaugh. On March 12, 1960, she married her husband of 55 years, Harold Cooper, and he survives.
Sharon is also survived by her daughter, Laura Marie Gage and husband, Lynn, of Warsaw; sons, Michael J. Cooper of Greenfield and Brett E. Cooper of Shelbyville; grandchildren, David, Christina, Justin, Devon and Emily; and great-grandchildren, Dayton and Jacoby.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sharon graduated from Fairland High School in 1957.
She and her husband were a founding family of Town and Country Christian Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher.
Sharon formerly worked at Bishopp’s Hardware, Farm Bureau Co-Op, Shelbyville Schools and as a patient advocate at Major Hospital.
She was a past member of Beta Sigma Phi, Shelby County Council for Child Abuse Prevention, Business and Professional Women and St. Joe Social Club.
Sharon enjoyed working puzzles, reading, going to yard sales and riding a motorcycle with her husband.
She loved cats.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Town and Country Christian Church, 2133 S. Tucker Road in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the church, with Pastor Ian Farnsley officiating.
Interment will be at Fairland Cemetery.
Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
