Sharon L. Benson, 76, of Shelbyville, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, at Major Hospital.
Born Aug. 17, 1930, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Edward Peck and Helen (Sosbe) Burgess. She married Theodore Allen "Ted" Benson on Nov. 13, 1948, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1989.
Survivors include three daughters, Polly (husband, Tim) Weaver of Shelbyville, Jennifer (husband, Quentin) Kinchelow of Fairland and Marcia (husband, Donald) Robertson of Plano, Texas; and two grandchildren, Clinton Weaver and Christine Farrow.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert E. Peck.
Mrs. Benson was a lifelong Shelbyville resident.
She had been an office manager for McCorkle Stone Co. in Milroy and a bookkeeper at the former Elks Lodge. Prior to that, she was employed at Williams Industries.
Mrs. Benson was a member of West Street United Methodist Church and Flat Rock chapter of Order of Eastern Star No. 473, where she served as past matron.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., with an OES service at 7 p.m., Saturday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Dr. Randall K. Perry and the Rev. Carl Ewick officiating.
Interment will be in Norristown Cemetery in Norristown.
