Sheila Darlene Deupree, 73, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Major Hospital.
Born October 14, 1936, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Leonard and Irelene (Avery) Clark. She married Dr. William D. Deupree on January 28, 1956, and he preceded her in death on August 25, 2004, they celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.
Survivors include sons, Todd Deupree and Brad Deupree, both of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Dawn (husband, Keith) Branam of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Tara Branam (husband, Jeff Kieninger of Shelbyville, Jade Branam of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Corey (wife, Melissa) Branam of Warsaw, Ashlee (husband, Douglas) Walker of Glendale, Arizona; great-grandchildren, Kaden, Kali, Alexis, Austin, Madison and Adilyn.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and son, Doug Deupree.
Mrs. Deupree formerly worked for Stanley Jones Insurance Agency for 25 years and at Indiana Downs from the day they opened in 2003 until June of 2010, when her illness no longer allowed her to work.
She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1955, and started nursing school.
Mrs. Deupree was a member of First United Methodist Church and served on the Major Hospital Guild and SCUFFY Board.
She was valiant in her fight against a very aggressive terminal cancer. She always dressed beautifully and was respectful to others.
A Celebration of Life will be announced by Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
